Charlie Pennington is one of the World's best age group Ironman triathletes, having finished 2nd in the 35-39AG Kona in 2015, an agonising 6 seconds away from the win! We interviewed Charlie back in March 2016, in episode 63, which is well worth going back to. We catch up with Charlie again - we hear how he's spent the last 18 months overcoming injuries, including knee tendinopathy and then a fractured collar bone, to come back for the overall AG win at Ironman Hamburg. We hear about the importance of regular breaks in training to stay mentally fresh as well as physically fresh, and learn about his tactics for picking himself up after experiencing setbacks as he prepares for another attempt at the age group win in Kona 2017!
