"In my opinion, Dan Plews is one of the greatest Ironman coaches." - Chris McCormack.
Dan Plews recently finished first age grouper overall at Ironman New Zealand in 8.35, closing out with a 2.52 marathon. In addition to his prowess as a racer, he holds a pHd in exercise physiology and coaches a number of professional triathletes, including Terenzo Bozzone, Jan van Berkel, Tim van Berkel, and Caroline Steffan. We talk about his use of a low carb high fat (LCHF) diet to help performance, and about how measuring heart rate variability (HRV) can massively help all triathlete measure their training and life stress levels. This is a fascinating conversation, and one of Dan's greatest strengths is taking cutting edge science and explaining complicated ideas in a very easily understandable way. We hope you get a lot from this interview!
